Welcome to syntropy. A garden of abundance, from principles to the field.
After permaculture, syntropy is the new revolution for gardening!
This approach is inspired by natural mechanisms that tend towards abundance.
Syntropic gardening relies on a process of organic matter accumulation to establish or restore soil fertility. This leads to a productive and resilient garden, capable of adapting to climate change. In practice, this translates to the installation of extremely dense and diverse crops, where different plant species are sown and planted at the same time to ensure yields over periods ranging from a few months to several decades. It involves envisioning the evolution of this group of plants over time and space.

In this system, the role of humans is to adapt their practices by observing and intervening in a targeted manner to accompany natural processes. Stimulating plant growth while promoting soil fertility, regular pruning plays a crucial role. It helps make the ecosystem self-sustaining in organic matter and promotes water retention.
Syntropy decisively turns away from conventional agriculture based on monoculture and excessive use of chemicals to compensate for imbalances caused by human activity.
Syntropy has yielded remarkable results in Brazil where, in 40 years of experience, its founder Ernst Götsch managed to restore a primary forest on degraded and arid land. Anaëlle Théry has adapted these principles to our temperate climate. In her nursery in Dordogne, she conducts numerous experiments, creating no fewer than 24 spaces to test highly productive plant combinations while best addressing the location's issues: limiting watering and adapting to high temperatures.
She shares her knowledge and results through teaching. The book "Welcome to Syntropy!", originally written as a course for audiences who have followed her teachings over the years, is a condensed version of her experiences. It is the first and only book on syntropic agroforestry in a temperate climate.
Do all these promises tempt you? Implement the principles of syntropy, regardless of the size of your land (from 3 m² to several hectares)!
