Its 10 cm Carbon steel blade offers excellent sharpness and unparalleled strength. The beechwood handle facilitates a secure grip, making the knife safer to use. The Virobloc safety system, invented by Opinel, allows you to lock the blade in the open or closed position.

Extremely versatile due to its size, it is essential for small DIY projects, hunting, agricultural work, and creative hobbies such as wood carving...

This knife requires blade maintenance after use (drying/oiling).

XC90 CARBON STEEL

Opinel carbon steel is a non-alloy steel with high carbon content that, after heat treatment, achieves excellent hardness ensuring a perfect cutting edge, great wear resistance, and easy sharpening. However, carbon steel has low corrosion resistance to moisture, so it requires careful handling: do not leave your knife in a damp environment, especially in the dishwasher, wipe the blade with a greasy cloth after use, and oil it and its pivot often.

HANDLE

Beechwood is the most commonly used wood for Opinel handles. Sourced from French forests, it is hard, durable, and easy to work with. Uniform in appearance, its light color ranges from yellow to pink. It is recognizable by the presence of many small dark lines. The handle is varnished for better protection against moisture and dirt.

SAFETY RING

Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is featured on all folding knives from N°06 onwards. Made of stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety during use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (security during transport).
